GOTA 2024 Conference Keynote Speakers

John has been a Firefighter/EMT for 19 years, spending 2 of those years in Iraq under contract for the Department of Defense.  John also has experience working in regular and Level II Emergency Rooms. John currently works for Glynn County Fire Rescue in the Fire Marshal’s office as a Fire Inspector and Arson Investigator. John earned an Associated of Science in Business Administration from Dean College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science and a Master of Public Administration from Anna Maria College.

Kimberly has been a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist since 2005 and has well-rounded clinical and management experience in adult care settings. Kim currently works as an Occupational Therapist in southeast Georgia in home health, acute hospital, and SNF/LTC settings, and she also works in quality assurance and risk management for an IRF in Jacksonville, FL. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in OT from Worcester State University, and a post-baccalaureate Master of Health Science in OT from University of Florida.

John and Kimberly met online in 2008 while John was on contract in Iraq and have been married since 2010. John has 3 sons who are in their 20s, and John and Kim adopted their last foster youth in 2019 just prior to his life-changing accident (she is now in her 20s and has an almost 3-year-old son). The currently live in southeast Georgia, and when not serving others, they enjoy spending time with their 17 dogs, riding their Harley motorcycle, and traveling.
