Saturday, February 24, 2018 to Sunday, February 25, 2018
Category: Events

Description:  Some statistics indicate that a stroke occurs every 40 seconds in the US and there are 1.7 million brain injuries that occur each year. This 2-day course will discuss the concepts of the physical care and evidence based principals to create results in clinical interventions for stroke, hemiplegia, brain injury, spasticity and general motor control issues. Occupational and physical therapists and assistants will find this course to be heavily lab based to provide attendees with skills for immediately use for effective strategies in the clinic. The lab portions will cover movement and function analysis, midline shift dysfunction (pusher), stretching and facilitation. The core, scapula, upper extremity and lower extremity will be addressed. Functional applications of improvement and carryover of care will be addressed as well as documentation to advocate for a client.
