Description:  This presentation will focus on evidence based practices in the treatment of pediatric hemiplegia secondary to neurological insults such as stroke, cerebral palsy, IVH, hemispherectomy, traumatic brain injury or hydrocephaly. The audience will experience the effects of knowledge translation by critically examining evidence based practice to then apply into clinical practice using a client/family based approach. Attendees will learn the concepts of multi-component approaches and clinical reasoning for the selection of traditional and contemporary interventions. Specifically, audience will learn how to assess, select skilled interventions and measurement outcomes for the pediatric population. The attendee will learn how to perform Goal Attainment Scaling as well as contemporary skilled interventions such as CIMT. (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL)
