Fall Prevention Course
Sunday, March 06, 2016
Category: Events

This 8 hour course teaches a unique and successful approach to fall prevention!  The Six-Step Balance System™ is a powerful program, designed to help individuals prevent falls by practicing a series of movements and exercises regularly.   More than being just “simple exercises”, these brief targeted activities serve more complex processes that affect the mind and body.  This system will enhance spatial awareness and improve eye, hand, and foot coordination and gross motor skills.

Upon course completion, the participant will earn 8 CEUs and be able to:

  1. Describe the Six-Step Balance System, along with the science behind each step;
  2. Teach patients how to discover the body’s natural ability to balance, overcoming the fear of falling;
  3. Teach patients exercises and strategies to increase leg strength, improve mobility and reaction time; and
  4. Describe fall prevention strategies for safety in their homes.
