This August, GOTA will host a one day course on the use of essential oils in OT practice.  Instructors, Jennifer Allison and Amanda Buono are both experienced OTs who have used oils personally and professionally and find the use of oils to be an irreplaceable tool within their treatment strategies.  This course will review current research on the use of olfactory stimulation in affecting modulation and mood and gives pragmatic techniques for utilizing essential oils within a sensory diet.  Instructors will identify key oils that can be utilized to increase alertness, decreased alertness, improve focus and regulate mood.  Participants will have opportunities to see and handle the oils and participate in make and take activities.
