#424 Current Emerging Therapeutic Strategies Using Mirror Therapy and Graded Motor Imagery for Functional Outcomes
Saturday, November 12, 2016
Category: Events

New information regarding changes in the brain following Orthopedic Injuries and Neurovascular Injuries has prompted a different approach to address both peripheral and central changes. Current concepts of using mirror therapy and graded motor imagery, which is a top down treatment, will be presented along with implications for rehabilitation. This course will emphasize a clinical reasoning approach supported by current evidence in the literature for top down treatment.  Both mirror therapy and graded motor imagery have been effective as a treatment strategy to increase range of motion and improve movement. This is an 8 hour course which consists of lectures, labs and individual case studies. At the completion of this course attendees will have developed skills to take back to the clinic for immediate utilization.

Event will be held Atlanta, GA (Dekalb Medical Center) – 11/12/2016
