Barbara Banning reported that the current Augusta Technical College OTA class lost one of their students, Jacob Davis, Dec. 28, 2010 due to a MVA. 20 students graduated Jan. 11 despite the ice storm! Several have already taken their boards, passed and have solid job offers. They have over 300 applicants for the August 2011 cohort.
Lynn Jaffe reports that Georgia Health Sciences University (formally Medical College of Georgia) has 40 second year OT students on Fieldwork Level II’s now. The 42 first year’s are thriving in their second semester. We have had over 100 applications for our next class of 40 students. The students have participated in the local Miracle League softball games as coaches and buddies. Our faculty continues to educate, publish, and pursue research and service.
