There are immediate benefits which include access to the members’ only section of GOTA website that includes issues regarding various practice areas, access to the on-line listserv via email, unlimited access to the on-line membership directory, immediate ability to find OT practitioners in GA via using the OT Locator, as well as the ability to post one free job listing per year in the on-line job bank.

Come network with others in your practice area and meet new OT practitioners across the state.
Are you looking for personal and/or professional development? Are you feeling isolated in your employment? Join GOTA – become part of an OT community. If you are feeling stagnant, GOTA provides opportunities to grow as a professional. Network, meet other OT colleagues, and volunteer to serve on a committee. Build your leadership skills and/or serve as a mentor to an enthusiastic student or newly graduated practitioner. We are looking into establishing resource practice groups to foster a professional community, as well as developing clinical research opportunities in the near future.

April 2008 Greetings from the Membership Committee
The Membership Committee has been quite busy this winter season. We started off the New Year with a bang - an ambitious membership drive. We mailed out approximately 3000 postcards to all licensed Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants in the state of Georgia. We have created email blasts to be mailed to all new and existing GOTA members asking them to choose the region in Georgia in which they would like to be affiliated. Another email letter has been created to send to all lapsed members asking them to rejoin GOTA. Email blasts have been sent to all listserv participants asking them to rejoin GOTA or else risk losing this benefit. The current count of GOTA members (mid March 2008) has increased to 266 members from 156 members in January 2008. Thanks to all who have assisted in recruiting colleagues to join GOTA. We hope to continue to have more good news of our efforts next month!
Sincerely, Erin W. Brennan GOTA Membership Chair

February 2008 Greetings from the GOTA Membership Committee, As we enter the spring of 2008, there is always an opportunity to reflect back on the previous year. We want to thank each and every one of you for your membership in GOTA in 2007. Your ideas, support, enthusiasm, contribution of time, and volunteerism towards our organization will always be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, if you are receiving this email, then your membership to GOTA is no longer current. We hope that you will take the time to renew your membership for the rest of the calendar year.
As many of you are aware, a change in the membership process was initiated this year. The Board of Directors of GOTA reviewed the issue of revolving memberships and voted June 23, 2007 to return to the annual or calendar membership process. Therefore, GOTA membership for 2008 began January 1st and will end December 31st, 2008.
We hope that you continue to support GOTA by remaining a loyal member. Benefits of GOTA membership include access to the listserv and to the "members only" section of the website. As we strive to bring GOTA into the 21st century, email blasts and website articles keep the membership updated on current GA reimbursement, professional and licensure issues. There are networking and volunteer opportunities across the state. The GOTA Annual Conference is one of those opportunities to meet up with colleagues and volunteer to assist with conference planning or introducing speakers. To renew for 2008, you may register on-line or download a registration form from the www.gaota.com website and mail in your registration. The GOTA address: GOTA, 1260 Winchester Parkway, Suite 205, Smyrna, GA 30080.
Please take the initiative to support and augment our profession in Georgia by renewing your membership with GOTA. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Erin W. Brennan, MS, OTR/L GOTA Membership Chair Click here to download the January 2008 Membership Letter
